Welcome to LaVeta Boutique!
We wanted to do an introductory/about us post to give our customers a little background into who we are and what we're all about! I opened LaVeta Boutique in July 2019, honestly kind of out of the blue, but it has been the best decision I've ever made.
As a little girl, I always loved shopping with my mom, coming home with new items to show my dad and my big sister. What I think I loved the most was the boutique aspect, how each one had unique items, it wasn't as crowded as the mall, and the boutique owner's always seemed to create a special, unique bond with their customer.
I went to college as a Psych major to USC in Columbia where I planned to graduate and be a counselor, but life took a large turn my junior year. I didn't want to be stuck in a career that I didn't enjoy for the rest of my life. So I packed up, moved home, and tried to find my passion. I decided in the mean time I would get my real estate license and start saving up.
My mom actually suggested the idea of opening my own boutique, but I put it off because I wasn't sure how I'd be capable of leasing a building and I didn't know the first thing about running a store. It was just a couple weeks ago, I was watching a sermon online that I had missed the past Sunday on a new series called Chasing Purpose. Our pastor discussed living in the sweet spot of purpose, where the glory of God, our joy and the world's good all align. Ephesians 2:10 was the verse that in summary discusses God's plan for us, our work is worship.
That is my overall goal for this company:
- to bring glory to God, yours and my joy, and the world's good.
In memory of my sweet grandma, LaVeta Dykes.
Thank you for supporting my dream!
